A subscription for something that costs pennies
Speech recognition has long been cheaper than a subscription, yet it is sold as one.
Someone else's cloud in the middle
To dictate an email, your text passes through a server you know nothing about.
Price
Why there is no subscription
You pay the speech recognition provider — Groq — directly, with your own key. Nobody stands between you and the bill, so there is nothing to charge you for. The app is free; the only cost is the minutes you actually use at Groq.
