Kama Type Русский

Terms of Service

The terms under which Kama Type is provided to you.

This version is effective from: 2026-07-26

1. Acceptance of these terms

This is an agreement between you and Kama Type, the publisher of the Kama Type app and the kamatype.app website. By installing the app or using the website you accept the terms set out below.

There is no sign-up, so your acceptance is expressed by use itself. If you disagree with even one clause, do not install the app and do not use the website.

2. What the service is

Kama Type is a voice typing app. It records your speech, sends it to Groq for recognition under your own key, and inserts the finished text into the active input field.

The Windows desktop version is available free of charge. The Android version is in preparation: until it is released we distribute no installation files, so builds from other sources should not be trusted.

3. Licence to use the app

We grant you a free, non-exclusive and revocable right to install and use the app on your devices, for personal and work purposes, with no limit on the number of devices.

The right is granted to you personally: you may not resell the app as a product or pass it off as your own. Neither the revocation of that right nor the restrictions set out here narrow the rights the GNU GPL-3.0 grants you in the corresponding parts of the source code — including the right to study it, modify it and distribute modified versions on that licence's terms. Rights in the source code are governed by open-source licences, covered below.

4. Your Groq key and your relationship with Groq

The app needs your own Groq key to work. You obtain it yourself at console.groq.com and accept Groq's terms directly — we take no part in that relationship and are not a party to it.

You are responsible for keeping the key safe and for paying for your own usage at Groq. The app merely sends requests bearing your key; limits, pricing and key revocation live in your Groq console.

5. Acceptable use

Use the app lawfully and do not turn it into a tool for harm. In particular, you must not:

  • record people without their consent where the law requires such consent
  • use the app for surveillance or unlawful collection of information
  • circumvent Groq's limits or send automated request floods the app is not built for
  • distribute modified builds under our name and logo
  • attempt to disrupt the website or the feedback relay

6. Intellectual property

The Kama Type name, the logo, the website design and its texts belong to us. You may not use them in your own products or in advertising without our consent.

The text you dictate belongs to you. We claim no rights in your content and have no access to it.

7. Open-source licences

The app grew out of open-source projects: the desktop version is based on a fork of a project licensed under MIT, and the Android version on a fork licensed under GPL-3.0.

Those licences govern the corresponding parts of the code and prevail over this agreement wherever the two differ.

8. No warranties

The app is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose and of uninterrupted operation.

Speech recognition makes mistakes. Do not rely on its output where an error is costly without reading the text yourself — this matters especially for medical, legal and financial documents.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost profits, lost data, or the consequences of recognition errors.

The app is free, so our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid for it, which is zero. This limitation does not apply where the law does not allow it.

10. Service availability

We do not promise that the app and the website will run without interruption: that depends on Groq, on your network and on your device.

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service. An app already installed will keep working for as long as the external services it relies on keep working.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms change along with the app. The current version always lives on this page, and its effective date is shown at the top.

By continuing to use the app after the terms change, you accept the new version.

12. Termination

You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling the app. Nothing has to be cancelled and no one has to be notified.

We may stop issuing updates and providing support, and may decline support in case of a serious breach of these terms. The clauses on warranties, liability and intellectual property survive termination.

13. No payments or subscriptions

The app is free. It has no subscriptions, in-app purchases, paid tiers or trial periods, and we neither request nor accept payment details.

Your only cost is your own usage at Groq under your own plan. We receive no commission from Groq for your usage.

14. Feedback

If you send us ideas, comments or bug reports, we may freely use them to improve the app, with no payment and no obligation in return.

Sending feedback is voluntary. Do not include passwords, keys or other people's personal data in your message.

15. Export restrictions

By using the app you confirm that you are not subject to sanctions, are not located in a jurisdiction barred from the services involved, and will not use the app contrary to export control law.

Whether Groq is available in your country is decided by Groq; we have no influence over it.

16. Force majeure

We are not liable for failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control: network and third-party service outages, power failures, acts of authorities, natural disasters and armed conflict.

17. Severability

If any clause of this agreement turns out to be invalid, the remaining clauses stay in force. The invalid clause is replaced by the closest valid rule with the same intent.

18. Entire agreement

These terms, together with the privacy policy, form the entire agreement between you and us concerning the app and the website, and supersede any earlier understandings and promises on the same subject.

19. Governing law

We prefer to settle disagreements by email: write to support@kamatype.app and we will sort it out. If that fails, the law of the publisher's place of establishment applies.

Mandatory consumer protection rules of your own country apply regardless of this clause and prevail wherever they give you more rights.

20. How to reach us

Questions about these terms, licences and support go to support@kamatype.app.

We reply in English and Russian.
