Kama Type Русский

Privacy Policy

This document explains what data Kama Type processes and why.

This version is effective from: 2026-07-26

1. Who we are and what this document covers

Kama Type is a voice typing app: it turns your speech into text and inserts that text wherever your cursor is. The app and the kamatype.app website are published by Kama Type, and you can reach us at support@kamatype.app.

This policy explains what happens to data in two places: inside the app on your device, and on the kamatype.app website. There is no third place — Kama Type has no accounts, no sign-up and no user dashboard.

2. What the app sends us

Nothing. The app runs no analytics, sends no telemetry, and tells us nothing about launches or how much you dictate. We learn of an error only if you send us a feedback message yourself (section 7). We operate no server that could receive such data, and there is no account it could be attached to.

We do not know whether you have the app installed, how often you use it, or what you dictate. Specifically, the app does not send us:

  • your name, email address or phone number
  • advertising identifiers or persistent device identifiers — we see your device model and system version only in a feedback message you send us yourself (section 7)
  • the content of your dictation or your transcript history
  • location data
  • in-app behaviour — there are no third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in it

3. Where your audio and text go

To recognise speech, the app by default sends the recorded fragment straight from your device to Groq at api.groq.com. The resulting transcript goes to the same place for a short clean-up of filler words and slips, and is then inserted into your input field.

The connection runs between your device and Groq. We are not in the middle: there is no proxy of ours that your audio or text passes through, and we physically cannot read either. For this data we are neither controller nor processor — the processing is done by Groq under the terms you accepted when you obtained your key.

4. Where your Groq key is stored

You obtain the key yourself at console.groq.com and enter it in the app settings. It is saved in the app's local storage on your device and is used only for requests to api.groq.com.

We never receive your key, never store it and never see it. You can revoke the key in the Groq console, and remove it from the app by clearing the field in settings.

5. Dictation history

The app keeps your transcript history and time-saved statistics locally on your device. These records are sent nowhere — not to us, not to anyone else.

If recognition fails — the network drops, or the service returns an error — the recording itself stays on your device so the attempt is not lost. The app keeps up to the 20 most recent such recordings and deletes older ones automatically. On Android you can retry recognition from the history; on the desktop the file sits in the recordings folder, which the app can open for you. On their own these files go nowhere.

You can clear the history from within the app. On Android, uninstalling the app takes its data with it. On Windows the data sits in the app's own folder — %APPDATA%\app.kamatype.desktop — and remains there after you uninstall the program until you delete that folder yourself.

6. Data on the kamatype.app website

The website is static. It sets no cookies and loads no third-party fonts, counters, pixels or ad networks — the pages make no external requests at all.

The web server keeps a technical request log, as any web server does: page address, time, browser type, IP address. IP addresses are anonymised when the data is aggregated, so aggregate statistics do not retain them in original form. The log exists only to gauge load and prevent abuse; it is never used for advertising or profiling.

7. The feedback form

The app has a Report a problem form. It fires only when you have written a message and pressed send yourself; nothing is sent quietly in the background. Please do not put passwords, keys or other people's personal data into the form.

Your message goes to our server at feedback.kamatype.app and is forwarded from there to the project owner on Telegram. The server does not write the message body to any log and stores it nowhere; it uses the sender's IP address only to rate-limit submissions.

A short technical line travels with your text. It carries no name, no email address and no persistent device identifier. Here is everything it contains:

  • the app version
  • on Android — the Android version and the device model exactly as the system reports it
  • on Windows — the platform name and the processor architecture

8. Third-party services

By default the app contacts exactly two external addresses. The first handles speech recognition; the second is used only for a feedback form you send yourself.

The desktop version offers a wider choice. Recognition can be switched from Groq to OpenAI, in which case the recorded fragment goes to api.openai.com — that address is fixed in the app and cannot be edited. For text clean-up you may choose Groq, OpenAI or a local Ollama instance and enter the address yourself, in which case the transcript goes to the address you specified. Processing on that side is governed by the service you chose.

Telegram serves only as the delivery channel for your feedback. There are no other third-party services in the app: no analytics, no advertising, no crash-reporting platforms.

  • api.groq.com — speech recognition and text clean-up. Processing on Groq's side is governed by its own terms and privacy policy: groq.com/privacy-policy
  • feedback.kamatype.app — our feedback relay. It stores nothing and contacts only api.telegram.org to deliver the message

9. Children

The app is not intended for children under 13 and collects no data about children. We do not ask for age because we do not ask for anything at all.

If you believe a child has sent us something through the feedback form, write to support@kamatype.app and we will delete the message.

10. Your rights

Rights to access, correct, delete and port your data apply to data a controller actually holds. We hold none of yours: the app sends us nothing, no accounts exist, and we take no payments.

In practice you are the one in control: history and key are deleted inside the app, and data held by Groq is handled under Groq's rules in your account with them. If you have sent us feedback and want it deleted, write to support@kamatype.app.

11. Transfers across borders

Groq is a US company with servers in several countries. By sending audio to api.groq.com you transfer it out of your country directly, and the terms of that transfer are set by your agreement with Groq.

A message from the feedback form passes through our server at a third-party hosting provider and is delivered to Telegram, a service with international infrastructure. No other cross-border transfer happens in Kama Type.

12. How long data is kept

We keep only what you send us yourself: feedback messages stay in the Telegram conversation for as long as they are useful for work on the app, and are deleted on request.

The web server's technical log is short-lived and is overwritten automatically as it rotates. Your transcript history and Groq key stay on your device for as long as you want them there — that retention period is yours to set.

13. Security

Traffic to api.groq.com and feedback.kamatype.app runs over HTTPS. The website is served over HTTPS only, and its content security policy forbids loading third-party code and styles.

The app has no self-update mechanism: it neither downloads nor executes code from the network, and you install updates yourself. No system is perfectly secure, but the less data exists, the less can be lost — and here there is none.

14. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated — for example, if the app gains a feature that uses the network. The date at the top always shows when the current version took effect.

Material changes will be described on this same page. By continuing to use the app after an update, you accept the new version.

15. Governing law

Kama Type is a small independent project, not a company with offices and branches. We follow the general principles of data protection law, including the GDPR: minimal data, a clear purpose, no hidden transfers.

We prefer to settle disagreements by email: write to support@kamatype.app. If that does not resolve matters, the law of the publisher's place of establishment applies; mandatory consumer protection rules of your own country apply regardless of this clause.

16. How to reach us

Privacy questions, requests to delete feedback you sent, and problem reports all go to support@kamatype.app.

We reply in English and Russian. Plain language is fine — no legal wording required.

This document follows a standard template and is not legal advice or a legal opinion. If you need your situation assessed, consult a lawyer.
