What is Kama Type?
A voice dictation app: you speak, and the field receives already-cleaned text — no filler words, self-corrections, or dead pauses.
How much does it cost?
The app itself is free. You only pay Groq for speech recognition as you go — typically a few dollars a month with daily dictation.
Where do I get a Groq key?
Sign up at console.groq.com and create an API key under API Keys. Paste it into the app's settings on first launch.
Why does Windows warn me during install?
The installer isn't signed with a paid code-signing certificate, so Windows shows a SmartScreen warning. Click "More info", then "Run anyway".
Why isn't there a macOS version?
Kama Type is a personal project at an early stage, and there isn't yet the bandwidth to support another platform. Only Windows and Android are supported today.
Where does my speech go?
Audio is sent straight from your device to Groq using your own API key — it never passes through a Kama Type server.
Does Kama Type work offline?
No. Speech recognition runs in Groq's cloud, so dictation needs an internet connection.
How do I report a problem?
Use the feedback form inside the app — the message goes straight to the developer. You can also email support@kamatype.app.
